Following talks in Berlin on Wednesday night, the Quartet reiterated the need for the Palestinian Authority to accept its principles, including recognizing Israel’s right to exist.
The Quartet is made up of the United States, the European Union, the United Nations and Russia. The Quartet, released a statement saying it, "reaffirmed its statements regarding its support for a Palestinian government committed to nonviolence, recognition of Israel, and acceptance of previous agreements and obligations, including the road map, and encouraged progress in this direction."
