Gaza rocket fire resumes

Sunday, July 10, 2011 |  Ryan Jones

Palestinian terrorists operating out of the Gaza Strip fired three rockets into southern Israel Saturday night.

Two rockets hit open fields near communities in southern Israel, causing no injuries or damage. The third landed inside Gaza.

Last week, an Israeli soldier was lightly wounded when a bomb planted by Palestinian terrorists along the Gaza security fence exploded near his tank.

Some Israelis fear the Palestinians could begin ratcheting up the level of violence ahead of a Palestinian bid to unilaterally declare statehood at the UN in September.

While that strategy would seem counterproductive, the international community had demonstrated time and again that its chosen method of dealing with Palestinian violence is appeasement.
