Since the beginning of the demonstrations in Libya it is estimated that over 6,000 civilians have been killed. Col. Moammar Gadhafi declared war on his own people sending his army, air force, and mercenaries to quell the "trouble makers."
On Thursday the UN decided to take action and bring a stop to the massacre of innocent Libyans. The UN Security Council announced a resolution to enforce a no-fly zone over Libyan airspace and an arms embargo on the country. The purpose of this resolution is to protect the civilians of Libya.
