The physical health of former prime minister Ariel Sharon is deteriorating. At the end of last week Sharon was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel HaShomer near Tel Aviv. He was taken to the ICU’s Respiratory Rehabilitation ward because of a heart infection.
The hospital said that despite the severity of Sharon’s situation, they did not see it as an immediate danger to his life and defined his condition as “stable.”
Over the weekend, Sharon’s sons Omri and Gilad were at the bedside of their father. Sharon has been unconscious for 10 months when he suffered a serious stroke.
