Former Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak gave a lecture on the “Economic Development in Today’s World,” at Claremont McKenna College, near Los Angeles.

Barak gave a lecture declaring that 2007 will be critical for the world in four issues: Iraq, the Iranian threat and the danger of nuclear weapons in the hands of terrorists, rebellious nations, and the influence of the world economy and the threats on all of these.

Barak expressed concerns of North Korea and Iran obtaining nuclear weapons. There is a great need to block the spreading and distribution of nuclear weapons.

He said that if a small percentage turned to terrorist operations, it would be tens of thousands of terrorists.

In addition to his military and political achievements, Barak earned his first degree in Physics and Mathematics from Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and his second degree in Engineering from Stanford University.
