Germany fears growth of anti-Semitism

In a meeting with holocaust survivors, German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier said the German government is concerned about the rise of right-wing radical extremists and the growth of anti-Semitism and is working with full strength to defeat this phenomenon.

In response to one of the questions from the participants in the meeting concerning the Iranian threat of annihilating Israel, Steinmeier said that Germany understands the hidden dangers of Iran and because of it will do everything to maintain peace in the area.

The Holocaust survivors indicated that the meeting was symbolic on the day of Kristallnacht, 68 years earlier, where over 1300 Jews were murdered and over 1500 synagogues were destroyed.
