HOT offers special deal for Sabbath observers

The Israeli cable company HOT, has just created a new package at reduced rates for its Shabbat (Sabbath) observant customers if they adhere to keeping the Sabbath by not making any phone calls.

The new deal, called “Talk Free,” allows you to talk-all-you-want for 69 shekels ($16) a month instead of NIS 79 ($18.75), a 14 percent discount, offered to the general public, on the condition phone calls will not be made on Shabbat or on holidays.

The package allows customers to talk up to 2,000 minutes per month to other HOT and Bezeq customers for a flat monthly rate. All calls over 2,000 minutes cost 12 agarot ($0.02) a minute.

HOT’s new telephone service stemmed from a similar package model it developed in August for its cable service.
