Hamas funds used for missiles instead of food

A suitcase filled with one million dollars was transferred straight from Iran to Hamas. Instead of using the money for humanitarian aid such as food, the money will be directly used for purchasing missiles targeted against Israel.

Vice Premier Shimon Peres met with the British International Development Secretary Hilary Benn who was visiting the region. Benn told Peres about his meeting in the Gaza Strip with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and Palestinian doctors.

“The situation in Gaza is difficult. They complain that there isn’t any money for food or medicine,” he said.

Benn asked Israel to transfer frozen tax funds to the Palestinians.

Benn’s request irritated Peres, “Israel will transfer money to the Palestinians only when it is clear that the funds will not be used to finance terror against Israel. Hamas is throwing away a million dollars instead of providing food and medicine to its people, and today it is clear to the whole world that Hamas prefers terror and war rather than recognize Israel.”
