Vice Premier Shimon Peres believes the chance of Hamas and Fatah coming to a compromise is slim, because Hamas supports a radical religious ideology and in religion there is no compromise.
In a meeting with Peres, Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet mentioned to him that the deep rift among the Palestinians prevents the existence of a political process. Peres needs to use an economic lever such as digging a water canal, while simultaneously recommending the forwarding of the political process.
Peres also said that nuclear weapons in Iranian hands is unfortunate to world peace, including Russia because they may be able to flow into the hands of terrorists from Chechnya.
