Katsav leaves The President’s House

President Moshe Katsav moved out of The President’s House in Jerusalem on Tuesday night and officials made it clear that he won’t return while under suspension.

Katsav has lived in the presidential residence for the past six and a half years, moving from his private home in Kiryat Malachi where he will return.

Attorney-General Menahem Mazuz told the Knesset’s legal advisor Nurit Elstein on Tuesday that “it is not in keeping with the aim of the law which is to create a temporary cessation in the president's term of office because of the criminal investigation against him.”

Katsav is under investigation for sexual misconduct with four women during his term in office.

The attorney-general however, believes Katsav is still entitled to his salary, the highest paid in the country.
