Syria gives Hizballah anti-tank missiles

Syria transferred advanced anti-tank missiles to Hizballah in Lebanon, in spite of the fact that it goes against the UN resolution.

The shipments included Russian-made Kornet anti-tank guided missiles, the same used by Hizballah against Israel during the war in Lebanon.

Israeli officials also found that Hizballah continues to accumulate Katyusha rockets, as well as medium-range and long-range rockets.

“Again, Hizballah is growing in strength before our eyes and we're standing by idly,” a Jerusalem official said.

Israel criticized UNIFIL’s failure to prevent the increasing smuggling of arms into Lebanon and to terror groups.

“Hizballah has learned a trick: All weapons smuggled are carried out north of the Litani River, far from where the UNIFIL soldiers are stationed. The soldiers are aware of the smuggling, but are doing nothing,” the official said.

The Foreign Ministry is boosting its diplomatic efforts abroad in order to persuade the international community to enforce the arms embargo.
