Security forces found the body of an Israeli settler stabbed to death late Sunday night in a ravine near the Judean city of Hebron. Erez Levanon, 42, had gone missing late Sunday afternoon and was found near a local spring where Palestinians live.

Police are investigating whether the murder was terror related or criminal activity, but security sources believe it to be terror related.

Late Sunday night, Palestinians reported to Palestinian security forces that a man’s body had been seen near the Palestinian village of Beit Omar. Palestinian policemen notified the Israeli police who investigated the area.

Levanon was pronounced dead at the scene, having been stabbed in numerous places on his body. The cause of death was from a stab wound to his neck.

The Israeli army searched in the area for the assailants. Central Command said there had been a number of terror warnings with Palestinian plans to kidnap Israelis.

Also on Sunday, the Israel army began a large-scale operation in the Samarian town of Nablus, arresting terrorist and destroying explosive laboratories used for making weapons to murder Israelis.
