Israeli troops shot and killed a Palestinian during a raid in a village near the Samarian town of Jenin, Palestinian security sources said on Thursday.
Palestinian sources reported that the man was unarmed and that soldiers were shooting in response to stone throwing from members of the village of A-Shuhada. There was no comment from the Israeli army.
However, the army did say they were firing during an operation in the nearby village of Mutlat Shahida. All shots by the Israeli army were in response to initial fire and said they shot at an armed man on the roof.
In other operations throughout Judea and Samaria, Israeli troops arrested the Islamic Jihad leader of Nablus. The Israeli army said Muhammad Kitaneh was responsible for planning and carrying out attacks against Israeli targets.
Also in Nablus, troops swept through the city looking for suspects and uncovered a pistol and ammunition clips.
