Amidst rumors that Member of Knesset Azmi Bishara has fled Israel, his wife and children returned and MK Jamal Zahalka denied the reports in an interview with Army Radio on Thursday.

Zahalka said Bishara's family has returned proving that he was not planning to flee the country.

Bishara had traveled to Jordan and then to Spain and will continue on to Bahrain and then India.

Meanwhile, Bishara's party Balad has filed a request to lift the gag order on his affair, in a bid to refute the rumors surrounding the Arab parliament member.

In Jordan, Bishara, who is one of the more outspoken MKs, met with former Jordanian prime minister and deputy chairman of Jordan's Upper House of Parliament Taher al-Masri. Al-Masri is considered one of the most prominent leaders in Jordan's Palestinian community.

“Believe me, when the gag order is removed, he will not stop talking,” Zahalka said.

Zahalka added that Bishara would “return to Israel following the international tour he scheduled for himself.” In Bahrain, Bishara is set to attend a national rally.

It was also reported that while abroad, Bishara underwent medical testing following kidney problems.
