A full closure was imposed on Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip on Saturday night and will continue through Wednesday night.

Security forces are on high alert across the country in preparation for Soldiers Remembrance Day and Israel’s 59th Independence Day celebrations and memorials.

The defense establishment has currently received nine concrete warnings and dozens of general warnings on terrorist plans to carry out attacks during the holidays, including suicide bombings, kidnappings and shooting attacks.

Security forces plan on entering an emergency mode heading into Independence Day and just before the end of Soldiers Remembrance Day and the day Israelis honor those who have been victims of terror.

Police activity on the eve of Remembrance Day and the day itself will involve primarily protecting cemeteries and the surrounding areas. On Independence Day they will be deployed throughout the country, especially in parks, large public gathering areas and entertainment centers.

“The activity will take place in circles around the territories, the Seam Line, and the Jerusalem vicinity – inwards towards the cities, using visible and hidden roadblocks. Operations against illegal residents will also be carried out,” said Major General Berti Ohayon, head of police operations.
