Four Israeli soldiers were wounded on Sunday during a Palestinian mortar shell attack on the Erez Crossing terminal on the border between the Gaza Strip and Israel.
One of the victims was listed in moderate condition, while the other three suffered light injuries.
Two additional mortar shells slammed into an Israeli community in the western Negev region, damaging an agricultural hothouse.
The ruling Palestinian faction Hamas claimed credit for the attacks.
In an apparent effort to draw additional international criticism of Israel, the group is reportedly trying to disrupt commercial activity at the Gaza border crossings. Western powers and the United Nations have harshly censured Israel for closing the crossings during times of heightened Palestinian terrorist activity.
