Israel sits amid a sea of hostile and aggressive enemies, is the constant target of international condemnation, the nation's economic situation is often less than ideal and its leaders are regularly mired in corruption scandals.

Nevertheless, an overwhelming 83 percent majority of Israelis are either satisfied or extremely satisfied with their lives, according to a survey conducted by Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics.

Interestingly, and contrary to the regular complaints of their Knesset representatives, 71 percent of Israeli Arabs who participated in the six-month survey said they are satisfied with their lives in the Jewish state.

Well over half of the respondents told pollsters they are confident brighter days are ahead for Israel.
