Israeli forces operating in the West Bank (Samaria) town of Nablus on Thursday discovered a large terrorist bomb lab, reported Israel's Ynet news portal. A number of prepared bombs and other weapons were found in the building.

As the Israeli counter-terrorism operation continued on Friday morning, soldiers spotted a wanted Palestinian terrorist traveling in a taxi during a heated exchange of fire and shot him dead. The wanted man was a member of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement.

A total of 12 Israeli soldiers have been wounded during the course of the operation so far, including an officer who sustained serious injuries after being hit by an improvised terrorist bomb. The officer reportedly lost a leg as a result of his injuries, and doctors at Tel Aviv's Tel Hashomer Hospital were said to be working feverishly to save the other leg.

Israeli defense officials have described Nablus as a major hub of Palestinian terrorism.
