Palestinian 'collaborator' tortured to death by Hamas

A Palestinian man suspected of aiding Israel in its war on terror was found dead in his Gaza prison cell on Wednesday following days of torture at the hands of his Hamas interrogators.

Hamas' allies in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad said they recently obtained video of Fadel Duhmush, a former member of the group, being brought into Gaza by Israeli soldiers for the purpose of collecting intelligence on local terrorist cells.

Following his arrest, Duhmush was taken to the main prison in Gaza City, which as of last month is wholly under the control of Hamas. Palestinian sources told The Jerusalem Post that the man then endured days of “brutal torture.”

An Islamic Jihad spokesman claimed Duhmush committed suicide in his cell, but most observers believe he died of the extensive injuries received during his interrogation.

There has been no reaction by international or local human rights organizations.
