Terrorist killed attacking West Bank checkpoint

A Palestinian Arab terrorist was killed by Israeli troops on Thursday while attacking a military checkpoint in Samaria (the West Bank).

The soldiers fired warning shots as the Palestinian sped toward them in his car. The man then stopped, stepped out of his vehicle, and opened fire on the Israelis with an assault rifle. He was killed when the soldiers returned fire.

Three bombs were found in the terrorist's car.

The Islamic Jihad terrorist organization claimed credit for the attack, which it said was a response to ongoing Israeli anti-terror operations in northern Samaria.
