About 5,000 Israelis participated in a march around Jerusalem's Temple Mount on Sunday, according to police estimates cited by Israel National News.

The march is a monthly event conducted by religious Israelis dedicated to the rebuilding of Israel's temple to the Almighty, but usually draws far smaller numbers.

Sunday's march took place just one week before the Ninth of Av, the Hebrew calendar date when the First and Second Temples were destroyed by the Babylonians and Romans, respectively. The Ninth of Av is a day of national mourning and fasting in Israel.
