An Israeli man suffered light injuries on Monday evening when a Palestinian rocket slammed into his home in the southern Israel town of Sderot. The man was wounded despite being inside his home's reinforced room, a required feature in most Israeli residences.

The victim's wife and three small children were treated for shock after seeing their husband and father torn into by shrapnel.

A total of four rockets hit Sderot during the attack. The other three did not cause any damage or injuries.

The bombardment resumed on Tuesday morning, when two rockets hit another community in the area, causing damage to a cow shed.

Additionally, several mortar shells were fired at Israeli forces on patrol along the Gaza security fence overnight. No injuries were reported.
