A number of villages in Israel's northern Galilee region have banded together to launch a campaign aimed at attracting Christian tourism.
Christian tour groups visiting northern Israel typically stick to Nazareth and a handful of sites on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.
In an effort to alter that trend, at least four villages have teamed up with Israel's Ministry of Tourism to encourage Christian visitors to also get to know present-day Christian communities in the area, reported Ha'aretz.
Since most of the villages do not appear in the Bible or contain Christian holy sites, local leaders and ministry officials are brainstorming ideas to attract foreign pilgrims to the communities.
