Two Israelis were wounded on Friday when rockets fired from the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip slammed into the southern Israel town of Sderot.

One of the rockets landed in a residential area, causing damage to several home and lightly wounding two residents.

The Hamas-aligned Islamic Jihad terrorist organization claimed credit for the attack.

Israel responded with a weekend air strike on Gaza that left two Islamic Jihad terrorists dead. Defense officials said that a car packed with explosives for use against an Israeli target was also destroyed in the strike.
