Netanyahu campaign HQ shares building with Israeli Messianics

Benjamin Netanyahu's headquarters for his campaign to remain chairman of the Likud Party is on the second floor of a Tel Aviv building also occupied by a large Israeli Messianic organization dedicated to bringing the message of Jesus to their fellow Israeli Jews.

The Dugit Messianic Information Center is situated in the lobby of the building on Tel Aviv's popular Sheinkin Street. Workers at the center told The Jerusalem Post that Netanyahu came into their office at one point to ask what the organization was. When they told him, Netanyahu reported replied, “Good.”

Netanyahu's chief rival in Tuesday's primary election, Moshe Feiglin, used the location of the party leader's headquarters to accuse him of ties to “missionaries” who are trying to “convert Jews to Christianity.”

Netanyahu is known to have strong ties to the Evangelical Christian world, and has refrained from ever disparaging his Messianic countrymen, unlike Feiglin, who in the past has made virulent remarks about believers in Jesus, be they Jewish or Gentile.

The Likud primary will last all day Tuesday. Netanyahu is expected to win by a large margin.
