Keith Ellison ends Israel trip unscathed

America's first Muslim congressman, Keith Ellison (D-Mn.) wrapped up a six-day visit to Israel on Sunday, having successfully managed to stay out of the limelight and avoid controversy.

Ellison was part of a larger Democratic congressional delegation that was in the region to meet with Israeli and Palestinian leaders.

The Israeli and US press were poised to report on any slip by Ellison that might be construed as anti-Israel sentiment.

But the freshman representative made a point of staying in the background, and saying nothing to the press of any interest whatsoever.

In an exclusive interview granted to The Jerusalem Post, Ellison responded to questions regarding the Israeli-Arab conflict by saying, “I don't know, I'm just learning.”
