Hizballah to sue Israel

Wednesday, August 29, 2007 |  by Staff Writer

Lebanon's Hizballah terrorist militia is preparing to hit Israel with a series of lawsuits filed in various countries over damage caused to Lebanon by the Israeli military during last summer's war, reported Ha'aretz.

Hizballah has solicited the aid of numerous Lebanese who hold duel citizenship in Western countries where they will file the lawsuits on Lebanon's behalf. The legal fees will all be paid by Hizballah.

The government of Lebanon considered suing Israel following the 2006 war, but was prevented from doing so by the fact that the United Nations recognized that Hizballah was to blame for the 34-day conflict.

Lebanon has for years thumbed its nose at international law by permitting Hizballah to continue to exist as an armed force capable of threatening the Jewish state.
