Hamas guns down Gaza teen

A 17-year-old Palestinian boy was shot and killed by Hamas security forces during a demonstration on the Gaza-Egypt border on Saturday.

The demonstration was attended by Hamas supporters who were demanding that Egypt allow the border crossing to reopen to general traffic. The Rafah Crossing has been closed since Hamas violently seized control of Gaza last June.

Hamas gunmen opened fire when the mob began to surge toward the border terminal in an apparent attempt to break through into Egypt. In addition to the boy who was killed, eight other people were wounded, reported The Associated Press.

Hamas last month employed violence against supporters of the rival Fatah movement protesting the group's increasingly Taliban-like policies in Gaza.
