Arabs caught destroying Jewish vines

Five Palestinian Arabs were caught in the act of uprooting grapevines belonging to Jewish communities in Samaria on Saturday.

An Israeli army patrol spotted the vandals, who managed to escape into a nearby Palestinian village. Some 180 vine seedlings were destroyed in the attack.

In a much larger incident of what is being called “vineyard terrorism,” Palestinian Arabs and a handful of extremist left-wing Israelis destroyed some 5,000 vines near another Samaria community last month.

Claims of Jewish settlers in the area uprooting Palestinian olive trees regularly make headline news in the mainstream international press, while the destruction of Jewish vines is rarely if ever reported.
