Iranians turn to Israelis to identify crash victims

The Iranian Embassy in Thailand turned this week to Israeli forensic experts to help identify Iranian nationals killed in a weekend plane crash on the island of Phuket.

A large number of Israelis were also killed when the plane crashed during landing. The Israeli forensics team was the first to arrive in Thailand, as Jewish law stipulates that the dead must be quickly buried.

Thai law does not allow for the deceased to be released for transportation before being identified, which forced the Iranians to seek the aid of their Israeli enemies.

The Israelis responded positively to the request.
