Thousands of soldiers and hundreds of tanks and armored vehicles took part in three days of intense military exercises on the Golan Heights in northern Israel this week.
The training exercise came just days after Israeli air force jets reportedly bombed a suspected nuclear facility in neighboring Syria.
Syria, which demands Israel return the Golan Heights to its control, has promised a severe response to the Israeli raid.
Military experts fear that war with Syria would see that nation launch hundreds of non-conventional warheads at the Jewish state. Israeli media revealed this week that on July 26, an explosion ripped through a chemical weapons plant in central Syria, killing 15 soldiers and scientists and wounding another 50. Syrian officials later admitted that the explosion occurred while Syrian and Iranian engineers were fitting a mustard gas warhead to a SCUD missile.
