Coalition still on hold

Tuesday, January 04, 2005 |

The Orthodox United Torah Judaism (UTJ) political party has still not decided whether or not to join PM Sharon’s national unity coalition with the Labor party. Rabbis from the Gaza Strip and Jewish seminaries throughout the country continue to meet with rabbis associated with the small party, attempting to persuade them to stay out of the new government. Early national elections are forecast if UTJ does not join Sharon’s coalition by the end of this week.
