Lebanon's Hizballah terrorist militia plans to take additional Israelis hostage and will never surrender its arms, the group's deputy said in a speech delivered on Sunday.
Speaking to a group of enthusiastic supporters, Sheikh Naim Qasim insisted that only by abducting Israelis could Hizballah hope to secure the release of Lebanese terrorists jailed in Israel. Qasim cited Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's stated readiness to pay a "very high price" for even information regarding kidnapped Israelis.
Last week Israel set free a mentally ill Hizballah fighter and transferred the bodies of two Lebanese gunmen in exchange for an Israeli corpse that washed up on Lebanese shores two years ago and a letter abducted Israeli airman Ron Arad wrote to his wife 20 years ago.
Qasim also stated that Hizballah has no intention of ever disarming in accordance with international demands.
"The problem in Lebanon is Israel and its supporters and not the 'resistance.' The 'resistance' is defensive and it is a response to Israeli aggression and thus he who wants to take care of this must solve the problem by starting with the Israeli threat and Israeli aggressiveness and not with the organization's weapons," declared the terror boss.
