Palestinian rocket attack wounds 12 soldiers

Wednesday, January 05, 2005 |

The Israeli army reports at least 12 soldiers were wounded Wednesday when Palestinians fired a Qassam rocket at an IDF base near the Gaza-Israel border. Two of the soldiers were moderately to seriously wounded, while the rest sustained lighter shrapnel injuries. The serious Palestinian attack came two days after PA leadership candidate Mahmoud Abbas called upon rebel Palestinian groups to stop firing rockets at Israeli targets. Other rockets were fired today at the western Negev and mortars were lobbed at Gaza Strip Jewish communities.
