The One Jerusalem organization on Sunday launched a major public relations campaign to rally opposition to the readiness of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to divide Israel's capital as part of a final status peace agreement with the Palestinian Arabs.
One Jerusalem head and popular former government minister Natan Sharansky kicked off the campaign at a ceremony at the Haas Promenade overlooking Jerusalem's Old City and the Temple Mount. Sharansky was joined by numerous leading Israeli political figures and visiting US congressmen who all oppose the re-division of Jerusalem under any circumstances.
As part of the campaign gold ribbons are being handed out to residents of the capital to tie to their cars and homes in a mass display of solidarity with an undivided Jerusalem.
The million-dollar campaign is being funded by American businessman Ron Lauder.
