Jerusalem terror alert lowered

Monday, November 26, 2007 |  by Staff Writer

Israel's security forces returned their alert status in Jerusalem to normal levels late Sunday after a tense day hunting two Palestinian terrorists who had reportedly managed to enter the capital.

Despite lowering the alert level, security forces remain vigilant in Jerusalem fearing that various Palestinian groups will intensify their efforts to carry out large-scale terrorist attacks during the US-hosted Middle East peace summit in Annapolis, Maryland.

A police bomb squad blocked traffic outside the Israel Today offices early Monday morning after finding a suspicious object at an adjacent intersection. After nearly 30 minutes carefully inspecting the scene, Israeli police sappers determined there was no bomb.
