Israel practices distribution of water rations

Israeli security and emergency forces in the central Israel town of Ramle on Tuesday conducted a drill simulating a rocket attack that knocked out the town's water and electrical infrastructure, necessitating the distribution of emergency water rations.

Carried out in cooperation with the local municipality, the Israel Police and Israel's Mekorot Water Company, the exercise focused on how to best get water to residents in the event of such an attack, or equally destructive natural disaster.

Political and security experts to the right of Israel's political spectrum continue to warn that the Olmert government's plan to surrender Judea and Samaria for the creation of a Palestinian Arab state will put towns like Ramle in Israel's densely populated coastal plain within range of the kind of daily rocket attacks plaguing southern Israel following the Gaza withdrawal.
