Americans firmly back Israel against Arabs

The results of a new public opinion poll commissioned by The Israel Project show that an overwhelming 62 percent majority of Americans support Israel in its conflict with the Palestinian Arabs, and want their government to similarly take sides.

Only nine percent of respondents said they support the Palestinians.

The Israel Project noted the contrast with a similar poll conducted in 2002, when 68 percent of Americans said their nation should not take sides in the conflict.
