Israeli police vigorously prevented large-scale or overly disruptive demonstrations against the land-for-peace process during the visit of US President George W. Bush.
But a small demonstration held during the president's meeting on Wednesday with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert was allowed to proceed and carried a damning message.
Gathering just a few hundred yards from the official Prime Minister's Residence in Jerusalem, scores of Israeli youth donning Arab headdresses and wielding plastic rifles held up banners declaring Bush the founding father of Palestine, a state that, like the Gaza Strip, will quickly become a Hamas-run terrorist haven.
"The creation of a Palestinian state will lead to a Hamas takeover just like it happened in Gaza. If the 'Road Map' continues, then George Bush and Ehud Olmert will go down in history as the founders of Hamastine, a terrorist haven in the heart of Israel," Israel National News quoted Meir Indor, directory of the Almagor terror victims association, as telling the gathering.
