A mild earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter Scale shook Israel and Lebanon late Monday night.

The earthquakes epicenter was about 12 miles east of the southern Lebanon coastal city of Tyre. It was felt by Israelis as far south as Jerusalem.

No injuries or damage were reported in either Lebanon or Israel.

Late last year, a series of three earthquakes centered on the Dead Sea hit Israel within the same week.
