Most Israeli-Americans prefer Hillary for president

Hillary Clinton was the choice for a majority of Israeli Americans voting in the Democrats Abroad Global Primary held earlier this month.

Ha'aretz reports that the results of the international primary, which allows American expatriates to cast their vote for the presidential nomination, revealed a fairly significant discrepency between the voting tendencies of US citizens in Israel and other countries.

In Israel, Clinton won 54 percent of the Democratic vote, while Barrack Obama was the overall winner in the global ballot, taking 66 percent of the vote.

Clinton is viewed in Israel as being far more conscious of the Jewish state's security needs and national interests, a legacy she inherited from her husband former President Bill Clinton, who today blames the Palestinian Authority and the wider Arab world for the failures of the Middle East peace process.
