Fatah terrorists ambush Israeli, kill Arab friend

Palestinian terrorists on Wednesday evening ambushed an Israeli civilian near the Judean town of Hebron, but ended up shooting dead a fellow Palestinian Arab who was a friend of the intended victim.

The targeted Israeli was lured to the Palestinian-controlled area by an Arab acquaintance who expressed interest in buying his car. As the two men were discussing the sale of the vehicle, gunmen in a passing car opened fire, killing the Arab man and seriously wounding the Israeli.

Despite his injuries, the Israeli man managed to return to his car and drive himself to a nearby Israeli army checkpoint.

Officials with the Al Aqsa Brigades military wing of Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah party later said that they were behind the ploy, and that the original plan had been to abduct the Israeli. However, fear that the Israeli army had discovered something was awry forced the terrorists to simply open fire on their target.
