Israel's Foreign Ministry on Monday published on its website a series of photos and video clips showing Gaza-based terrorists using the civilian population there as a shield from behind which to launch attacks on Israel and avoid Israeli retaliation.
The clips show terrorists launching missiles at Israel from inside densely-populated civilian areas, using private homes and mosques to store weapons, and bringing groups of children onto the roofs of buildings where Hamas members are hiding from Israeli forces.
The ministry website explains that "the purpose of the civilian presence is to have them serve as human shields, exploiting the fact that [the Israeli army] avoids harming Palestinian civilians."
The new Internet content is part of a broader Foreign Ministry campaign launched several months ago to counter negative media coverage of Israel and its war on Palestinian terrorism.
As part of that same overall effort, the Jewish Agency this week will send to its offices around the world media kits that will include a series of graphic color photos of last Thursday's massacre of Jerusalem yeshiva students by an Israeli Arab terrorist.
