An Israel Air Force helicopter fired missiles at a suspected Palestinian car bomb near the settlement of Kfar Darom in the Gaza Strip on Thursday. The vehicle was destroyed and there were no injuries reported. The vehicle had been parked in a field overnight, and according to witnesses there was no one inside when it was blown up. The size of the explosion indicated the car had contained explosive material, an IDF source said. "We attacked a suspicious car in an open area south of Kfar Darom and identified a hit," he said. "The explosion in the car after it was hit was significantly stronger than would have been the case from a missile alone, indicating that it contained explosives."
