A prominent right-wing Israeli rabbi was stabbed and moderately wounded by an Arab assailant in Jerusalem's Old City on Tuesday.

Rabbi Yehezkel Greenwald of the Ateret Cohanim Yeshiva that operates in the Old City was accompanied by a student who managed to fight off the terrorist and prevent his mentor's murder.

The 49-year-old rabbi sustained a single stab wound to the neck.

The attacker's face was caught on security cameras and distributed to pursuing security forces.
