Suicide attack kills 6 at Karni Crossing at Gaza

Friday, January 14, 2005 |

On Thursday night just before 11 P.M., a truck filled with explosives backed up to the separation fence on the Palestinian side of the Karni Crossing at Gaza and detonated about 300 pounds of explosives. A large hole was created in the wall through which three suicide bombers, armed with guns, bombs and grenades, climbed through. They began firing their weapons and throwing grenades at Israelis working at the crossing, including Israel Airports Authority guards who returned fire. One of the terrorists was killed and the others then blew themselves up. Six Israelis were killed, including two Arab truck drivers and five were wounded.
