Foreign paratroopers arrive to honor Israeli army

One hundred and fifty foreign paratroopers representing the armies of 14 different nations arrived in Israel on Friday to take part in an Independence Day ceremony saluting the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The Israeli military spokesman announced that the foreign troops will all parachute together during an IDF Independence Day event on the beach of the southern coastal city of Ashkelon.

The visitors will also participate in Memorial Day ceremonies around the country on the day before Independence Day.

Paratroopers from the US, England, France, Spain, Germany, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Singapore, South Africa, Canada, Greece, Italy and Switzerland are part of the delegation.
