Israel used belly dancer to torture me, says Palestinian man

Two Palestinian publications reported at the weekend about an innovative and devious new torture technique being employed by the Israelis against Palestinian Arab security prisoners: belly dancers.

The Bethlehem-based Ma'an news agency and the daily Palestine Today newspaper both carried interviews with distraught Sultan Abdullah Suleiman, 21, who was recently released from an Israeli detention center near his hometown of Ramallah.

As Suleiman recounted his ordeal at the hands of brutal Israeli interrogators, he spoke of a scantily-clad Iraqi girl named "Nora" who was brought in to dance seductively before him until he would tell the Israelis all he knew about possible terrorist activities.

The Palestinians have over the years become known for inventing wild accusations of bizarre mistreatment at the hands of the Israeli security forces.
