Suicide bombing at Gush Katif Junction

A suicide bomber blew himself up near an IDF outpost near the Gush Katif Junction in the Gaza Strip. The attack occurred just after 7:00 P.M. in a structure where Palestinians undergo security checks. According to initial reports, a vehicle approached the outpost and when it raised suspicions with the soldiers, they directed the vehicle to stop. The driver stopped, exited the vehicle and blew himself up. It is not yet clear if the bomber entered the structure or if he blew himself up outside. Five Israelis were wounded in the attack. The terror group Hamas has claimed responsibility for the attack.The attack came on the day that PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas arrived in the Gaza Strip to attempt to deal with the terror attacks against Israel.
