Sderot residents march to Beit Hanun

Tuesday, January 18, 2005 |
Almost 1,000 residents of Sderot marched on Tuesday morning towards nearby Beit Hanun in the Gaza Strip. Many of the Qassam rockets are fired from Beit Hanun. The protest is against the government’s incapacity to stop the firing of the rockets into Sderot, that has been the main target of ongoing Palestinian attacks. The march ended at around noon at a lookout point near Beit Hanun on the Israeli side of the border. A number of the Sderot residents, who were joined by members of adjacent Kibbutz Nir Am, intended to continue on to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's nearby ranch, Army Radio reported. Early Tuesday morning, three more Qassams landed in an open area near Sderot causing no casualties.
